Got a call from a law firm in Austin that lost all their case files
They had a RAID 5 array with two drives down, and the backup was from six months ago. I spent two days running recovery software and managed to pull about 90% of the data. The lead attorney looked like he was about to cry when I told him. Has anyone else had a close call with a business that just stopped checking their backups?

Imagine the malpractice suits" feels like jumping to the worst case. I get why people go there, but it assumes the whole system is just waiting to fail. Sometimes a new idea just needs a fair shot to work right, you know? Not every change has to end in a courtroom.
