I was using canned air wrong for years and didn't know it

I was cleaning a dusty gaming PC for a client in Austin last week and kept spraying the fans while they were spinning. The client's kid pointed out that it can back-feed voltage and hurt the motherboard. I looked it up and he was totally right. Has anyone else made this mistake, or do you have a better way to clean fans without taking them out?

Honestly that's a great point about the fans. It's wild how many little things in tech we just do without thinking, and then find out there's a whole hidden rule. Like how you're supposed to unplug the power before working inside, or not putting a laptop on a soft bed. Makes you wonder what other basic stuff we're all getting wrong because no one ever told us the right way.

Wait you're NOT supposed to put a laptop on a soft bed? I've been doing that for YEARS. That explains why my old one always sounded like it was going to take off.
