Stop troweling while water is still beading on the surface

I was on a flatwork job in Denver last month and watched a new guy start finishing while the bleed water was still sitting. He ended up sealing that water into the surface and it looked like a mess after cure. If you see beads on top, wait. Or use a hose to push it off. I learned this the hard way on a 20 yard pour in 2019. Anybody else see guys rush this part?

Saw that happen on a big garage floor last year, felt bad for the homeowner who had to look at it every day. It's one of those lessons that sticks with you once you've made the mistake yourself.

Ugh, tell me about it @laura_white99... I watched a buddy pour a slab for his shed and now there's a crack the size of Texas right down the middle. He's been trying to patch it for three summers now and it just keeps coming back. Definitely one of those things you learn the hard way...
