Update: My float got stuck in a slab during a pour in Tampa
We were finishing a driveway in that Florida heat, and my magnesium float just sank into the mix like it was quicksand. The concrete was way too wet, but the homeowner was rushing us. I had to yank it out, leaving a nasty gouge. We had to stop, add some more sand mix to stiffen it up, and rework that whole section. Anyone ever had a tool just disappear on them like that?

Ever try to explain to a rushing homeowner why their soup mix needs to firm up?

That "tool just disappear" feeling is everywhere, like when you lose your keys because you're rushing out the door. It's that same pressure elliotr98 mentioned, where speed wrecks the whole job. Rushing never saves time, it just makes more work.
