Heard a guy at the Denver airport claim flight delays are a deliberate data collection tactic

He was arguing that the extra time you spend waiting around lets them scan your face and track your movements more than normal, which made me wonder if any of you have come across similar theories about travel surveillance?

Consider how a crowded, bored crowd is the perfect test for facial recognition tech. They get to see how the system works when people are tired, looking down at phones, or wearing hats. A normal boarding process moves too fast and is too orderly. The chaos of a delay creates way more useful data patterns for them to study.

That "deliberate data collection" idea at the airport is a really unsettling thought.

Lol, that tracks. I already assume every camera in the terminal is logging how long I stare at the overpriced sunglasses. My data point is probably just "guy who sighed at the Cinnabon line for seven minutes." They're definitely building a file on my poor life choices, but I doubt they need to cause delays for that.
