Hot take: I always thought chemtrails were a joke until a pilot friend broke it down for me

My buddy Mike flies cargo out of Louisville and we were having a beer last month. I made some dumb comment about those long white streaks in the sky and he stopped me cold. He said those are just contrails from planes at high altitude, but then he explained why some last longer than others. Something about temperature and humidity at 35,000 feet. I still don't buy the wild theories about mind control or weather modification, but now I at least look up twice before laughing at someone who brings it up. Has anyone else had a moment where someone actually in the industry changed your take on something? Not looking for YouTube links, just real stories.

Just ice crystals" is exactly what they want you to think. But my buddy's dad worked on aircraft maintenance for 30 years and he said the military has been testing atmospheric dispersal since the 90s, no joke. I'm not saying it's mind control either, but there's way more going on up there than plain old water vapor and cold air.

My neighbor's a meteorologist and she told me it's just ice crystals, not chemicals.
