Pro tip: Watch out for mold in those dollar store grow tents

Picked up a $40 tent from a surplus place near Tulsa instead of dropping $200 on a proper grow tent. Three weeks in, I spotted white mold on the seams. Anyone else cheap out on gear and get burned by humidity issues or was I just unlucky with that batch?

Heard somewhere that cheap tents use a vinyl that traps moisture (just like @blake432 said, caulk and a dehumidifier saved his grow).

Picked up a cheap greenhouse tent from a hardware store years ago and had the same problem. Sealed the seams with some caulk and ran a small dehumidifier inside and that did the trick. Ever try that route?

Honestly, I used to think caulking greenhouse seams was overkill but your post made me reconsider. I've got a similar cheap setup and the humidity has been brutal on my plants, never thought a small dehumidifier would make that big of a difference. Gonna give this a shot, appreciate you sharing what actually worked lol.
