inChose the accessible entrance over the stairs today and got weird looks
Wow, someone actually said that to your face? That's some next-level entitlement right there.

inThat cheap LED strip kit from Amazon burned me hard
Man, that SUCKS. I had a similar thing happen with a strip I put on my kitchen counter for "ambient lighting" and it literally fell off and landed in a bowl of cereal. The adhesive on these cheap kits is basically just warm gum. I had one that cooked itself so bad the plastic wrapping got all wavy and gross looking. It's like they know people will buy them based on the price and the reviews are all fake anyway. Hope your knee is okay, that's a real bummer of a way to find out your lighting is junk.

inOverheard a guy at the Tim Hortons in Sudbury saying he shaves 2 minutes off his commute by not using cruise control on the 69
Yeah that whole idea is pure nonsense. I tried the same thing on the 400 down to Barrie and my fuel economy went in the toilet, especially with all those hills around the French River. Cruise control just keeps the engine working steady which is way better than your foot constantly adjusting and burning extra gas.

inGot told my emails were too long, fixed it in 2 weeks
Wait hold on. You had a dispatcher who wrote full on novels for each stop? Like paragraphs for every single address? I can't even imagine how fast those got ignored. @holly_foster that's the kind of thing that makes you wonder if they were just trying to pad their hours or something. I bet the drivers were drowning in that mess before you switched. Sometimes people overcomplicate things so bad they forget the whole point is just to move boxes from point A to point B.

inHot take: most people here are way too precious about blade steel
Heard you loud and clear but I gotta push back a little. 440C is fine for sure but there's a REAL difference when you try something like S35VN or even good old VG-10. It's not just marketing hype. I've sharpened a LOT of knives and the cheap steels just don't hold an edge as long in my experience. You might not have had a failure but I've definitely seen cheaper steels roll or chip after just a few tough cuts. It's not about feeling superior, it's about picking the right tool for the job and sometimes the "upgrade" saves you time and frustration.
