Wasted $80 on a 'premium' cable management kit that was just zip ties and shame

Did you ever go back and look at the actual product descriptions after you realized you'd been had? I started paying more attention and found most of these "premium" kits use the same generic photos and specs you can get on any discount site for a fraction of the price. It made me wonder how much of that $50 was just paying for the box and the word "premium" printed on it, not any real quality. I have a feeling the companies that make these things are counting on people not returning them because it's just not worth the hassle over $20 or $30.

I hit $100 a month in grocery savings just by switching stores

Man, my budget looked at $150 a week and laughed before running away crying. That's basically my entire food budget for me, my wife, and my dog who thinks he's a person at dinner time. Switching to Aldi cut our spending by about $80 a month but the real kicker was losing my favorite brand of salsa. Now I'm sitting here with store brand chips trying to figure out what life even means. Did you have to give up any weird specific item you actually missed?

Vent: Thought the digital level was a gimmick until it saved my butt on a 60 ton pick

Gotta say it applies to a lot of stuff too. Same thing with a torque wrench - thought they were just for show until I snapped a bolt on a buddies truck and realized I'd been winging it wrong for years. Sometimes the fancy tool just makes you look at the obvious thing you were missing.

Swapped a cracked intake manifold on a 6.0 Ford in my driveway during a snowstorm Tuesday and it fired right up first try

You ever have a buddy who thinks he's a diesel mechanic after watching three YouTube videos? My friend Kyle tried swapping an injection pump on his 7.3 Powerstroke in February, in the dark, with a headlamp that kept dying. He had to pull the turbo twice because he forgot to prime the oil system, and by the end his fingers were so numb he couldn't feel his own phone. But when that thing finally lit up, he just sat there in the cold grinning for like ten minutes. Sometimes the hardest wins are the ones that stick with you.

Why does nobody talk about cold-proofing bread dough overnight in the fridge?

Oh man, does that extra time really make that big of a difference in the crumb texture? I've been pulling mine at 22 hours and wondering if I'm missing out on something.
