Blue hair disaster at 9am, how do I fix this mess?

So I had a client come in last Tuesday at 9am asking for a pastel blue all over. She showed me a photo of this soft baby blue, but her hair was a level 6 brown with some old copper fade. I lifted her to a level 9, toned it, and slapped on the blue. Within 20 minutes it turned this weird swamp green, like a dark teal with muddy patches. I panicked and tried to re-tone it with a violet shampoo, but that just made it worse and patchy. She was super calm about it, just said "I trust you, do what you need to do." I ended up stripping it with a clarifying treatment and doing a demi gloss to even it out. It took 4 hours total and she left happy, but I'm still shook. Has anyone else had blue fade weird on porous spots, and what color remover do you swear by for fixing this type of mess fast?

The whole "slapped on the blue" part got me, because I've been exactly there. That swamp green thing happens hard on porous spots, especially where old copper was hiding. What saved me was a good ol' bowl of crushed vitamin C and a bit of clarifying shampoo, left on dry hair for about 20 minutes, it pulls the green out without wrecking the hair like a harsh remover. After that, I always do a strand test in the sink before I commit to the whole head, just to see where the weird spots are gonna pop. For removers, I swear by the Malibu hard water packets, they're gentle but get that caked on color out fast. Honestly, the fact that she stayed calm is a win, you fixed it and she left happy, that's the job.
