Don't trust those cheap load moment indicator apps for your phone
Honestly, I wasted $50 on the 'CraneMaster Pro' app last month thinking it would be a decent backup. Used it on a small pick in Spokane and the numbers were off by almost 15% compared to my rig's actual LMI. That's not just wrong, it's dangerous. Has anyone found a mobile tool that's actually reliable, or should we just stick to the factory gear?

Spokane's wind alone could throw off those phone numbers.

That 15% error on the CraneMaster Pro is exactly the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. I had a similar letdown with a different app a while back, and it just proved the phone sensors aren't built for this. Your rig's system is the only thing that should be making the call on a live lift. It's a tough lesson, but you're right to warn people.
