Dropped $800 on a fancy remote control for my crawler crane and it was dead out of the box.
Had to spend another 2 hours on the phone with the supplier getting a replacement shipped while the job site sat idle. Anyone else get burned by expensive electronics that fail right away?

Right, that's the only way to do it now. I had a package of computer parts show up last week and the box looked like it had been through a war, ended up opening and testing everything on the porch before the delivery guy even drove off. Learned that lesson the hard way after waiting two weeks on a return for a motherboard that was dead on arrival. Saves so much headache doing it right away.
