Spent 3 hours hunting down a plot hole that wasn't there

I was stuck on chapter 5 for two days. Kept thinking my timeline was broken. Turns out I misread a character's age by one year. My own handwriting on a sticky note caused the whole mess. Ever wasted an afternoon chasing a mistake you made yourself?

My sticky notes look like a doctor's prescription crossed with a ransom note. I swear my own handwriting has cost me more writing time than actual writer's block.

oh man i feel this so hard. what finally clicked for me was taking a picture of my notes with my phone and then zooming in super close on the handwriting. turns out i wrote "2008" instead of "2009" and the little loop made it look like a 9. after that i started keeping a separate doc just for dates and ages, typed out clean with no scribbles. it sounds dumb but it saved me from going cross-eyed again last month when i thought a character was time traveling but she was just born in october.
