Honestly, I always thought two-factor authentication was just a hassle and never bothered with it on my email. Then last Tuesday, I got a notification on my phone asking if I tried to log in from some random IP in Chicago. I hit 'deny', changed my password in 2 minutes, and nothing got stolen. Has anyone else had that moment where 2FA finally felt worth it instead of annoying?

and that's the thing right there - we only ever hear about 2FA being annoying until someone actually tries to break into your account. the real value is that it turns getting hacked into a minor inconvenience instead of a huge disaster.
