TIL my coworker tried to pay me in vintage comic books for helping with his taxes

Yeah but @carr.matthew, what if the IRS wants their cut? Good luck putting a comic book value on that tax form lol.

Can we talk about sealed fridge units making fixes impossible?

Oh yeah, because nothing says 'user-friendly' like a design that costs a fortune to fix lol. They make it so you can't even try to fix it yourself without special tools or skills. It's like they want us to just buy new stuff every time it breaks. But hey, at least it looks sleek while it's broken, right? Classic move from companies that act like they care but make things that are junk after one problem.

Dealing with a horse that won't lift its hind leg for shoeing

Last spring, I worked with a mare named Bella who had the same issue. She would lean away and refuse to lift her hind leg no matter what. I found that spending extra time just rubbing her leg without trying to pick it up helped a lot. It's like they need to trust that you're not going to force them. After a few sessions, she started lifting it on her own when I touched the fetlock. Sometimes it's about building patience and not rushing the process.

Working at a high-altitude site showed me why glass expands and contracts.

Ever had a drink glass crack on you because you forgot about the cold? Your post makes so much sense now. I once left a glass on my porch in winter and it split like my last relationship. Now I always check the temperature before putting stuff outside. Learning the hard way, I guess.

Update: My storm damage call yesterday made me question the always no-spikes approach. It was safer and faster for that tree.

I was against spikes too until a similar job changed my mind.
