Rant: I locked myself out of my own router for 4 hours over a typo
Two Sundays ago I finally decided to change the default admin password on my home router, something I put off for about 3 years. I typed in the new password, hit save, and my browser froze at the worst second so I couldn't tell if it went through. Ten failed logins later I got locked out entirely and had to hold down a paperclip in the reset hole, which wiped every setting. It took me 4 hours on a Tuesday night to rename every device, redo the wifi name, and set the guest network back up. Turns out the password I kept typing had a zero where I meant to put an O the entire time. Anyone else keep a written copy of router junk, or am I the only one flying blind here?
