A customer's thank you note made my whole week

I was finishing a panel upgrade in a house in the West End and the homeowner, an older lady, handed me a folded piece of paper. It was a thank you note saying she felt safe for the first time in years. I keep it in my toolbox now. Anyone else get a small gesture that just stuck with you?

Wow, that's actually really nice. Most notes I get are just complaints on the back of receipts. Guess you found the one customer who doesn't think we're all crooks, huh?

Right, because everyone knows the best place for a formal complaint is a greasy receipt. Gotta love the effort. Honestly, a nice note is a total power move. Makes you wonder if they're just a really good person or a mastermind playing the long game. Either way, it's a win.

So she just casually hands you a note that good? That's like finding a twenty in an old coat. Meanwhile, my last note was on a napkin asking why the outlet by their fish tank didn't work. It was unplugged. I framed the napkin as a warning to future customers.
