A friend watched me clean my garage and said my system was backwards
He pointed out that I always start with the big stuff like moving boxes, which leaves me too tired to sort the small things like screws and nails. I tried his idea today, spending the first 30 minutes just sorting all the little junk into jars. It felt weird at first, but by lunchtime I had cleared off two whole shelves without getting worn out. So, is it better to tackle the small, annoying tasks first to build momentum, or do you get the big stuff out of the way to feel like you've made real progress? What's your first move in a big cleanup?

Why not just do the small stuff first so you still have energy?

Right? Starting with the big stuff is like trying to run a marathon before breakfast. @stella904 has a point, you gotta sort the tiny junk first or you'll be too dead to care about that random screw collection. My first move is always the small annoying tasks, it tricks my brain into thinking the rest is easy.
