Hot take: tracking my sleep for 30 days showed me what caffeine was actually doing

I wore a cheap Oura knockoff for a month and the difference before and after dropping my afternoon coffee was nuts. In the first 2 weeks I was averaging 6.5 hours of restless sleep, then I cut caffeine after 2pm and suddenly hit 7.5 hours with deep sleep spiking by almost an hour. My buddy in Austin told me to try it after he saw similar results, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has had their sleep stats totally flipped by something as simple as timing your last cup.

Haha yeah my tracker just told me I'm a liar who thinks one espresso at 8pm is fine.

Ward.mason, that tracker is like having a tiny judge living in your pocket, isn't it? Mine loses its mind if I have a single cup of tea after 6pm, then acts all surprised when I can't sleep. It's like it doesn't understand that coffee is a lifestyle, not just a drink! I swear my sleep score has dropped ten points just from reading your post because I feel so called out. We're both in the same boat, just lying to ourselves and our gadgets every evening. I guess we'll both be staring at the ceiling tonight, but at least we're staring together.
