I spent $350 on a premium ice cream maker and honestly it was a waste of counter space

Everyone raves about those compressor models but I should have just stuck with the old salt and ice bucket one. The expensive one makes softer ice cream and I swear the cheap one had more flavor. Anyone else get suckered into buying kitchen gadgets that actually perform worse?

Honestly never really got the hype for those expensive ice cream makers. I've seen people spend way more on stuff like fancy pasta rollers or bread machines and they end up in the closet after a month.
