I was convinced meal prepping was a waste of time until I actually tried it

I spent 3 months telling myself it would just lead to soggy leftovers and wasted containers but my coworker at the diner in Austin made me try her Sunday prep routine. After one week of having actual food ready instead of grabbing fast food I actually saved like 40 bucks and felt way less stressed about lunch. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you were being stubborn about something that actually works?

Yeah I was totally that person yelling 'soggy salads are a scam' for years until my buddy prepped me a week of actual decent meals and I felt like an idiot." "The fast food savings alone hurt my pride more than admitting I was wrong." "Now I’m that annoying convert telling everyone to just try it once, even though half my fridge is still Tupperware graveyard.

Did you catch that little blurb in the Atlantic last month about how meal prep might actually help with portion control too? I read it while waiting for my oil change, and it clicked for me. I was the queen of grabbing a giant burrito bowl and telling myself I’d eat half for dinner, then finishing the whole thing in one sitting. Once I started boxing up my lunches on Sunday, I realized I was finally eating the amount I actually needed, not just whatever felt right in the moment. Plus, having a container of chili waiting for me made me feel so much more organized, even if my Tupperware drawer still looks like a disaster zone. Do you portion yours out by the meal or just prep the base ingredients and mix as you go?
