Morning coffee switch from drip to french press was a game changer

I've been doing the whole drip coffee maker thing for years, just set it and forget it. But last week I got a cheap french press from Target for like 15 bucks and tried it out on a Tuesday when I had some extra morning time. The difference is wild - the oils don't get filtered out so the taste is way richer and actually feels smoother. Made me realize I was just drinking brown water before and never knew what I was missing. My buddy Mike at the supply house said it's all about the metal mesh screen versus paper filters. I'm still getting the grind size right but even my messed up batches taste better than my old drip pot. Anyone else switch methods and feel like an idiot for waiting so long?

Bought a used french press off Craigslist a few months back and haven't touched my drip machine since. The extra minute of cleanup is totally worth it for that full flavor.
