Appreciation post for Procreate's symmetry tool after I avoided it for 2 years

I was totally against using any assisted drawing tools because I thought they were cheating, but after spending 6 hours on a mandala design last Tuesday and having it come out crooked anyway, I gave the symmetry feature a shot and now I can't believe I was wasting that much time fighting my own shaky lines.

Oh man, I was the exact same way! I refused to use the symmetry tool for like a year and a half because I thought it was somehow "cheating" at art. Then I tried drawing a geometric butterfly and after three tries where the left wing was totally different from the right wing, I finally caved. Now I use it for any repeating pattern stuff like Celtic knots or floral designs where I want perfect balance. It's honestly just a time saver, not a shortcut to better drawing skills. My shaky hands are way happier now!

Used to think symmetry tools were cheating too but honestly it just saves time on stuff like mandalas lol
