Hit 500 followers on my art account this week, totally wasn't expecting it
I started posting my digital paintings last February just to force myself to finish pieces. Hit exactly 500 followers on Tuesday and it hit me that's like a small room full of people who actually want to see my stuff. Most of them came from a single piece I did of a rainy street in Chicago that got shared around. Has anyone else had one random post suddenly change how their account grows?

I drop art online all the time and you're acting like 500 followers is some huge milestone. It's just a number at the end of the day, most of those people probably won't even remember your username in a week. Congrats on the rain piece getting shared though, that's what really matters.

The Chicago rain piece sounds like it really captured something special. I had a similar thing happen when I painted this old gas station in the desert - went from 200 followers to over 1,200 in like two weeks after someone on a photography forum shared it. It's wild how one image can just click with people and snowball like that. Good for you, seriously - that feeling of seeing strangers appreciate your work is something else.
