I dropped $80 on a cheap drawing tablet and it was a total waste
The pressure sensitivity was so bad it felt like drawing with a stick. I had to redo a whole character sketch three times before giving up. Anyone have a decent budget tablet that actually works?

Yeah, that pressure sensitivity thing is a killer. It's not just about the tablet, sometimes it's the driver software fighting with your art program. I had a cheap one that worked fine in the basic paint app but in my main software it was a total mess, lines would just cut out. Spent an hour messing with driver settings before it got usable.

Honestly @felixw68, my experience has been the total opposite. I've found that if you get a decent tablet from the start, the software usually just works. My old Huion had zero pressure issues in Photoshop or Clip Studio from day one. It feels like a lot of those driver fights come from trying to save money on the hardware itself. Tbh, spending that extra bit upfront saves so many hours of messing with settings.
