Just caught my layer order mistake after 40+ pieces

I've been building these fantasy landscapes for months and always put shadows on top of my highlights. A client in Portland asked why the light looked dull on a commissioned piece, and that finally made me test the layers. Swapping the order made everything pop in like 5 minutes. Anyone else stuck in a workflow habit that seems obvious in hindsight?

My buddy had the same thing with texture maps. He spent weeks wondering why his rock faces looked flat and tried all these fancy brushes. One day his kid pointed at the screen and said the bump map was backwards. Fixed it in two minutes and he still brings it up at dinner lol.
