Wasted $50 on a brush pack that claimed it worked for oil painting

Bought this set of digital brushes from some artist on Etsy who promised they'd mimic oil paint perfectly, but they just looked like smudgy mess no matter how I tweaked the settings. Anyone else get burned on a brush pack that looked amazing in the preview but flopped in practice?

Same thing happened to me with a $35 watercolor set that looked like mud.
