Why do so many people use the wrong canvas size for social media?
I keep seeing digital artists posting on Instagram with their beautiful work cropped weirdly because they used a standard 8x10 canvas. It drives me crazy since Instagram's ratio is 4:5 or 1:1, not that rectangular shape. I learned this the hard way after redrawing a portrait three times for a client last spring. Has anyone else noticed this issue in art showcases?

yeah the 8x10 thing is so annoying like artists just don't check the platform specs before they start. i swear half the time they finish a piece then realize they have to cram it into a square and it looks terrible. instagram has been using 4:5 forever now it's not a secret. wish more people would just look up the dimensions before they invest hours into something
