Found out 3 in 4 people who click a local ad never call, and I tested it on my own site
I run a small pest control business and I set up call tracking on my site about 6 weeks ago, then read a stat from a Google study that said 76 percent of people who search for something nearby on their phone visit a store within a day. That made me think my "contact us" form was doing nothing. So I added a click to call button right at the top of the page and watched my calls go from about 4 a week to 11. Turns out people hunting for a wasp nest at 9pm do not want to fill out a form, they just want to hit one button. Anyone else tested click to call against a form on a service site?
That line about people hunting a wasp nest at 9pm not wanting to fill out a form is so true it hurts. I do HVAC and had the same thing happen, my form got maybe 2 or 3 leads a week but the second I put a call button up top my phone started ringing way more. People in a panic just want to talk to someone right now, they are not typing out their whole problem in a box. The form still catches a few folks who hate talking on the phone, so I kept both, but the button is what pays the bills. Good on you for actually tracking it instead of just guessing like most of us do.
