Just learned nomads are averaging 3.2 cities per year now

I was reading that new State of Digital Nomads report from last month and it said the average nomad moves between 3.2 cities yearly now. That surprised me because back in 2019 when I started, most people I knew were staying 3-6 months in one spot. I guess coworking passes and coliving spaces made it way easier to bounce around faster. Anyone else feel like the scene got way more transient compared to a few years ago?

Actually the report said 3.2 cities per year not per month... it was a survey from Nomad List and Remote Year that came out in October. 3.2 cities per year is still pretty fast though, like moving every 3-4 months on average. But I think you got the timeframe mixed up in your post. The report also said the median is lower at like 2.5 cities per year because some people stay put for a long time and skew the average up. So the scene is definitely more transient than 2019 but not as crazy as 3.2 cities per month would be. That would be insane, you'd be packing up every 9 days or something.

Yeah "3.2 per month" would mean living out of a suitcase basically... I wonder how many of those yearly moves are just people bouncing back to the same spots though.
