My laptop charger died in a Chiang Mai cafe and I had to figure it out fast
It happened last Tuesday at a spot called Sticky Rice Coffee. My screen went black at 12% battery right before a client call. I asked the barista if they had a spare, but no luck. I ended up buying a universal charger from a shop down the street for about 900 baht, which got me through. What's your go-to plan when your main gear fails in a new city?

Man that's the worst feeling, especially right before a call. Did the universal charger end up working okay, or was it kind of sketchy? I always pack a portable power bank now as my emergency backup, but even that's failed me a couple times.

Ugh those universal chargers are so hit or miss, @kai602. Honestly just started carrying two cables and a tiny wall adapter, takes up no space. The power bank thing is smart but yeah, they die at the worst times too.

Totally connects to how we treat chargers like they're optional and then act shocked when they crap out at the worst moment. It's like life's way of reminding us to always double-check the simple stuff before we actually need it.
