You said here's what I did next, and honestly that's the part I want to hear. The last time my old dog got kicked out of a place, I just stood there in the parking lot fuming for ten minutes before realizing I forgot to lock my car. Ended up spending the rest of the day at a taco stand that had a dog bowl out front, so it all worked out kind of weird. Hope your story has a happier ending than mine, but at least you got a good reason to never go back to that diner.
