The museum tour that made me flip my advocacy script
Last month I tagged along on a group tour at the Natural History Museum here in Denver, and the guide kept stopping at exhibits that had zero wheelchair access, like a raised fossil display we couldn't see over. I asked why they didn't have a lowered rail or a mirror, and she shrugged saying 'nobody complained before.' That moment hit me hard because I'd been doing the same thing, assuming places would fix stuff if I just sent an email from home. Now I go in person, point at the exact barrier, and ask for a timeline on the fix. Has anyone else found that showing up physically got a faster response than written requests?
