Had to pick between a floor pump and a frame pump for the long haul
I got tired of CO2 cartridges on rides over 50 miles, so I grabbed a frame pump from a shop in Seattle. It takes 3 times as many strokes, but I've saved maybe 20 bucks on cartridges this summer alone. Anyone else ditch the mini pump for something bigger?

Takes 3 times as many strokes" - yeah, but you might be overestimating the cost savings a bit. A box of 25 CO2 cartridges is like 15 bucks online, so unless you're flatting every single ride it's more like 5-10 dollars saved. Still, the peace of mind from not running out of cartridges (or dealing with a frozen valve) is totally worth the extra arm workout.

Oh, I hear you loud and clear on that frozen valve frustration, it's such a hassle.
