TIL brake cable housing length matters way more than I thought
I was chasing a spongy brake lever for two days on my commuter. Swapped pads, bled the system, even checked the caliper alignment twice. Then I watched a Park Tool video that mentioned housing length, and sure enough, my front brake had about 3 extra inches of slack causing compression. Trimmed it down to match the frame guide and the lever feel got solid instantly. Who else has wasted hours on a fix that turned out to be this dumb simple?

Shiny new zip ties actually made mine worse, classic. π
