Counted my mutant radishes and hit 47, now what do I even do with them
I planted a packet of mixed radish seeds in April for fun and somehow 47 of them came out twisted, forked, or shaped like little fists. My neighbors think I'm running some kind of veggie freak show, but honestly I just want to know if anyone else has had a harvest this weird and what you did with the extras. Did you just compost half of them or eat the ugly ones anyway?

Remember that radishes get weird looking when they crowd each other, so if you planted the whole packet at once they probably fought for space and came out twisted. I'd say wash them up and pickle the ones that are still firm, they taste totally normal even if they look like alien fingers. For the really gnarly ones, just peel them and shred them into a slaw or stir fry, nobody cares what shape they are once they're cooked. Compost the ones that feel soft or hollow, those are past it anyway.
