Hot take on scarecrow design at the county fair last weekend

I went to the county fair last weekend and saw two big groups of scarecrows. One set was all traditional with flannel shirts and straw hats (boring but classic), the other was modern art pieces with found objects and bright paint. Which style actually scares crows better, or is this whole debate just us trying to look cool in the garden?

My old denim jacket and a reflection tape actually worked better than either style.

milap35 saying their denim jacket worked better is exactly my point. People act like scarecrow design is some deep science but it's really just putting up anything that moves in the wind. I've seen crows land right next to a traditional scarecrow with a flannel shirt and ignore it completely. The whole debate is just gardeners arguing about style more than actual bird control. At the end of the day crows are smart enough to figure out neither option is a real threat.
