Shoutout to the $6 bar of beeswax I ignored for 2 yrs until a prop maker in Savannah showed me her sealing trick
I always thought sealing foam props with heat alone was good enough until she brushed on melted beeswax at a con in Savannah and her 3 yr old pauldron still looked factory fresh compared to my cracked one, so now I want to know what other cheap stuff you all slept on before someone finally showed you the light.
Beeswax on foam sounds like a mess waiting to happen once it gets warm, so that factory fresh look might just mean she never actually took it outside. Cheap tricks get shared like gospel but half of them fail the second you stress test them.
