Why does nobody talk about desk cable trays that are actually flat
I spent $45 on this flat steel cable tray from Amazon because it looked clean in the photos and now my cables just slide right off every time I bump the desk. The tray has no lip at all so even Velcro ties don't stay put and my power strip keeps falling out from underneath. Has anyone else dealt with these slick flat trays or found a hack to keep things in place without buying a whole new one?

Man I feel your pain with those flat trays. I bought the same kind and had my power strip hit the floor three times in one week. What fixed it for me was sticking on some of those rubber anti slip pads meant for rugs along the bottom edge of the tray. Also I used adhesive cable clips with sticky backs to hold the cables in place instead of velcro. The clips keep everything from sliding around even when I bump the desk hard.

...and then he just gave up on the whole thing entirely. My buddy @william407 tried the same trick with rug pads too, actually. He put them on his tray and it worked for like two weeks before they peeled off when he moved his desk chair into the tray. He ended up just zip tying his power strip to the leg of his desk instead. Said it looks janky but at least it stays put now even when he kicks the desk by accident.
