Had to pick between a magnetic USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack mod for my old Xbox controller
I was modding my Series X controller last weekend to add some new features. I really wanted a magnetic USB-C port for easy charging but that meant I had to give up the 3.5mm jack spot because there's just no room inside for both. I went with the magnetic port since I mostly use wireless headsets anyway. It took me about an hour to solder in and so far it clicks on way nicer than the stock port. Anyone here tried keeping both ports by routing them differently?

Oh man, the "no room inside for both" thing is SO real. A buddy of mine tried to keep both ports in his old Xbox One controller and he ended up having to Dremel a chunk out of the plastic shell just to squeeze the headphone jack in sideways. It worked for like a week but the solder joints were so janky that the port broke off the first time his cat yanked the cord. He said it was a total nightmare and swore it off. I think you made the smarter call going with the magnetic port honestly, especially if you're mostly wireless anyway. Less hassle, cleaner mod.

Yeah I probably would've just glued it back together and called it a day, I'm not exactly known for clean mods lmao.
