Stick drift ate my expensive controller, fixed it with a $9 part

My Elite controller started drifting on the left stick during a ranked match last Tuesday. Tore it down, swapped in a hall effect module from a local electronics shop for $9, and it's been dead accurate for 2 days now. Anyone else make the jump to hall effect sticks, or still using the factory ones?

Dude, the $9 fix is the way to go, I did the same thing to my regular Xbox controller about a month back and it's night and day. Once you go hall effect, going back to the old sticks feels like you're fighting the controller the whole time. And the thing is, drift is not a matter of if, it's a matter of when with those factory parts, so you basically just future-proofed your whole setup for less than the price of a pizza. Actually, I ended up putting hall effect sticks in my old backup controller too, just so I don't have to deal with that annoying twitch during a clutch moment ever again. It's wild how such a tiny swap makes the whole stick feel smoother, not just the dead zone.
