Rant: that big box store paint counter guy told me primer was optional for my kitchen cabinets

I spent six hours last Saturday scraping peeling paint off my oak cabinets after listening to him at the Home Depot on Elm Street, and now I gotta redo the whole job with the good bonding primer I should've bought first, has anyone else had a paint store employee give you advice that just backfired completely?

Drywall screws work fine for hanging a swing" - man that is just insane. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I can't believe someone actually said that out loud with a straight face. A swing puts way more stress on those screws than a picture frame or whatever. Those little screws will snap clean off after a week of kids jumping on it. Hope nobody got hurt from that terrible advice.

Did he also tell you drywall screws work fine for hanging a swing? Some people just want to watch the world peel.
