Unpopular opinion: I stopped clamping small glue ups and just use masking tape now
Broke 3 of those cheap orange clamps in a single night last winter trying to rush a box build in the garage. A guy at the Rockler in Denver showed me the tape trick and I haven't touched a clamp on small stuff since, what else am I wasting time on?

Man those cheap orange clamps are the worst, I snapped two of them just trying to get decent pressure on a little jewelry box last year. Tape really is a game changer for small stuff, way less fiddling and no more crushed corners from overtightening. Stick with what works and save the clamps for the big panels.
