Name brand mod podge vs dollar store glue, big mistake on my part
I tried to save $3 on decoupage for my kid's school project last week and grabbed the off brand stuff from Dollar Tree. It dried all cloudy and bubbly on the paper, looked terrible. Had to redo the whole thing with the real Mod Podge from Michaels, night and day difference. The cheap one also peeled off the cardboard after 2 days, total waste of time. Anyone else get burned by trying to cheap out on the one supply that actually matters?

Is it just me, or does EVERY hobby have that one secret sauce you can't skimp on? Like, you'll cheap out on brushes or paint all day long, but the moment you grab a substitute for the stuff that actually binds the project together, it's a total gamble. I swear the store brand stuff is made with extra water or something, because it never dries clear and it doesn't hold up. It's like buying off brand batteries, you save a buck but your kid's toy dies halfway through the day and you pay for it in frustration. You basically wasted your time AND the $3 you saved, which is the real kicker, right?
