Cloud storage is turning our drafting workflow into a version control nightmare
Our firm switched to a shared online drive for all our CAD files last quarter. Now, every time someone opens a drawing, it creates a new copy with a date stamp that makes no sense. I had to merge three different versions of the same floor plan just to send it to the engineer. This whole system is supposed to help us collaborate, but it just wastes hours every week.

We had the same issue with automatic date stamps. We set up one main folder where the rule is everyone has to save files with the same name, like "ProjectX_FloorPlan_MASTER.dwg". The date thing still happens but at least there's only one file to update. We also use a simple check-out spreadsheet so two people don't edit the same drawing at once.
