Took me 3 days to fix a hatch detail I could've done in 20 minutes

Last week I was working on a set of drawings for a warehouse addition in Dayton and kept getting the expansion joint hatch wrong. I'd place it, check it, delete it, and redo it maybe six times, convinced something was off. Turns out my reference layer was locked and I was tracing over an old floor line that had been moved two feet. Once I unlocked it, the whole thing snapped into place and I was done before lunch. Anyone else lose way too many hours to a locked layer or a hidden override that turned out to be the dumbest thing?

Those three days were probably the best spent time of your week, gives you a chance to appreciate all the other details you got right without even thinking.
