Cutter head speed change threw my whole production off in Galveston
Slowed the rotation from 32 to 24 rpm on a clay run thinking it would ease the load, but suction dropped so bad I lost almost 2 hours clearing a plug on the intake. Anyone else find that lower cutter speed needs a bigger swing arc to keep the vacuum steady? Has anyone tweaked swing rate instead of rpm for hardpack?
Dropping rpm that low is asking for trouble on intake vacuum man. Better to keep the speed and bump your swing rate a bit so the suction stays even. Hardpack usually wants more swing, not less spin.
