Serious question, did a 3/8 inch gap really change my mind on butt joints?
I used to swear by tight butt joints, but after counting 47 popped screws on a 40 sheet ceiling in Tampa, I tried leaving a 3/8 gap and floating it with hot mud, and now I’m a believer. Has anyone else switched after seeing the crack come back on a tight joint?
