Spent 4 hours fixing a corner bead that should've taken 30 minutes
I was working on a basement remodel in Boulder last Tuesday and hit this corner bead that just wouldn't sit flush no matter what I did. Tried shimming it with cardboard, used extra screws, even grabbed a fresh piece of bead from the truck. After 4 hours of fighting it I finally realized the stud was bowed out about a quarter inch near the middle. Has anyone else wasted a whole day on a single piece of trim like that?

Figured out that same kind of thing always happens when you're trying to force something to work instead of stepping back to look at what's actually wrong. The bowed stud reminds me how in life we'll bang our heads against the same problem for hours when the real fix is something totally different right in front of us. Spent 30 minutes after that rethinking the whole corner and it went in smooth as butter once I shimmed the stud straight.
