Tried self-tapping screws vs regular drywall screws on metal studs - not even close

Finally got a job in that old office building downtown with all metal framing and decided to test self-tappers against my usual drywall screws. The self-tappers went in clean with no pilot hole in about half the time, plus zero stripped heads which was a huge relief since I had 80 sheets to hang. Anyone else run into issues with regular screws on metal studs or did I just have bad luck with my batch?

You used to swear by regular screws too? Self-tappers changed my mind completely.

Heard a foreman say self-tappers save an hour per hundred sheets minimum.
