My freezer is full of those pre-made meal kits I swore would save me time
I realized I've spent over $200 on them in the last three months, but I still spend 30 minutes just heating everything up. Has anyone found a better shortcut that's actually fast?

Have you tried just making a huge batch of one thing on Sunday? I mean the kits still make you do all the prep and cooking, so you might as well get more meals out of it. It feels faster when you just have to grab a container.

Yeah I tried that once and ended up eating the same thing for like six days straight. By Wednesday I was ready to throw the whole container at the wall. I guess meal kits are the price you pay for not having to see the same leftovers stare back at you every time you open the fridge.

Nah, I'm gonna hard disagree with the batch cooking idea. Those meal kits are actually way less work than cooking a huge meal from scratch. You don't have to plan a recipe, make a grocery list, or deal with leftover random ingredients. With the kits, everything is just there. Spending 30 minutes to heat and eat is still faster than the hours you'd spend prepping and cleaning on a Sunday. The whole point is to avoid that big time block, even if it costs a bit more.
